Meet Me In The City
Ethan & Ana
This engagement shoot was such a fun idea by my client. She had a vision and the outfit, all it took was good lighting and some fun shot ideas. We collaborated on the idea and locations in the city to shoot at and I think we nailed it! It was such a joy to capture this engagement.
Jordyn & Dan
My dear cousin Jordyn and her husband-to-be at the time, Dan. They granted me the pleasure to take their engagement photos and they are still some of my favorite pictures to date! Never let a cloudy day discourage you when planning a photoshoot. The clouds are on your side! At sunset, clouds fill the sky with just a gorgeous painting of pastels.
Newport Castle Charm
Naht & Mike
Upon arriving to our location, rain started to trickle in. We all worried that it would ruin the entire shoot. We knew to plan ahead though and with them they had the perfect blue umbrella. I had never shot in what ended up being nearly pouring rain, but it ended up being one of my favorite shoots. What I love about inclement weather is that all of the nerves and expectation for perfection fly out the door. That relief has such an effect on this new relationship between me and the couple. We now have fun, laugh, try new things, and just basically wing it! It's that feeling of; "we're all in this together, let's make it work." I always remind them that if the rain really becomes an issue, we will try again another day. But we never have to :)
Kassidy & James
Much like myself, Kassidy and James did not find being in front of a camera totally natural. They made it a point to let me know ahead of time, and I assured them that I never arrive at a shoot with expectations of the couple, only of myself. It's my job to make the camera feel invisible, that it's just another ordinary day with just a little bit more PDA incorporated. As I got to know this couple, we soon bonded over cats, Lord of the Rings, and places we love to visit in Rhode Island. As I find with most of my couples: us humans are not so different from one another! By inspiring moments between them rather than directing every movement and placement of an arm, they soon started goofing around, laughing, and being themselves. Those are photos that will forever carry memories.
Sierra & Kyle
Sierra was a name I heard often around my workplace. She was none other than my bosses daughter, one they bragged about and gushed with pride over. She had accomplished so much and now she was engaged to her long time boyfriend, Kyle. I was overjoyed and, admittedly, nervous about covering her engagement photos. She was my bosses daughter after all! We decided to meet in New Hampshire on Hampton Beach and it was such a perfect setting. Along with them came their brand new pup and friends to cheer them on and rally the dog. It was more like friends getting together fir a beach outing than a nerve-wracking photoshoot which was exactly what we needed. The sound of friends egging us on and suggesting fun poses immediately calmed us all. We ended up only having about 30 minutes to shoot before the beach gates would close, but we captured some really fun and beautiful shots.
